Halo 3: ODST will be "stealthier" according to the game's writer and creative director
Loyal Bungie employee Joseph Staten has told Gamepro that Halo fans might need to do a bit of thinking for once, thanks to the ODST enhancement/upgrade featuring more in the way of clever, stealth-based play.
This is thanks to the new silenced SMG which, coupled with the night-time New Mombasa setting and powerful vision-enhancement visor, will have players sneaking round in the shadows like they're playing a much duller stealth game developed by, say, Ubisoft.
Joe also tells us that we won't get to meet, see, play as or lovingly fondle series star Master Chief at all in the game, thanks to the action taking place during a period of the official Halo timeline in which M. Chief is not on the same planet as ODST's star "Rookie". It's all very interesting indeed, should you be even the slightest bit interested in Halo.
