Brand new Mega Drive RPG "Pier Solar" possibly coming to Xbox Live Arcade

pier-solar-xbox-live-arcade.jpgA bunch of seriously enthusiastic enthusiasts who call themselves Water Melon Development are making a new - yes, NEW - game for SEGA's old Mega Drive format. Pier Solar will be a proper MD cartridge, in a box, with a manual.

Perhaps realising that this is veering on COMMERCIAL SUICIDE, Water Melon has said that the RPG may also hit Xbox Live Arcade - a format people actually still use and buy games for. Here's the news/factual part of this post...

"We've been looking at XBLA since Microsoft opened up to XNA games and it's a definite possibility in the future. At present though, we're looking forward to the completion and release of the Mega Drive version, so that we can then start planning for new games. A next-gen port of Pier Solar, or maybe even its sequel, is definitely on the list of things to do."

That'll be nice. Literally 50 people might be interested in buying such a game. If they charge 100,000 MS Points for it they might stand a chance of breaking even.

Nice to see posts like this. The project is a fan funded affair we're not out to make a profit!
