Look, I hate it. Hated the first one. Hated this one by proxy without even bothering to play it. But over three million gamers can't be wrong, can they? Yes they are, but it's a fight I'll never win, so I'll pretend they aren't wrong.

Gears of War 2 is great. It's got a chain saw in it. You are a BIG MAN with MUSCLES and a BAD ATTITUDE. It's very cool and, by extension, so is anyone that plays it. Happy now?

Genuine opinion after the jump to avoid offending casual Gears 2 fans...

I don't really think Gears of War 2 is the 5th best game of the year, or even in the top 50, I'm just saying it is here as some sort of clever and satirical attack on the mainstream media which says games that are supposed to be great are great, even if they're clearly not and that bloke off the Daily Star hasn't even got off the first level before giving it 5/5 because he knows it's an important game so therefore has to assume it's a good game.

Plus I just wasn't very good at Gears 1 online. Which may be the root cause of these issues, coupled with the odd feelings I get in my stomach whenever I look at lovely Cliffy B.
