Something called "OUTRUN ONLINE ARCADE" is coming to some sort of console

outrun-arcade-online.jpgThere's no better car game in the history of car games than OutRun2. It's worth buying an old Xbox for, especially as the backwards-compatibility of Xbox 360 doesn't run the original Xbox disc particularly well.

But that doesn't mean much in the context of "OUTRUN ONLINE ARCADE" as we have no idea what it is. The possibly new, possibly old OutRun was revealed by the Australian Classification Board today, which shows that SEGA Australia has applied for a certificate to release it - whatever it is.

The classification listing calls it an "ORIGINAL" version, so it sounds like it'll be an update of the first arcade machine, enhanced with network play. That would be OK, if a little disappointing for those gagging for a proper OutRun3.
