Some man who no doubt considers himself a "hacker" has decided to see if it's possible to put a slot-loading DVD drive into the case of an Xbox 360.

It was possible. Because he did it. Here's a list of how he did it and what he used, along with a video of it working as proof, as the highest form of proof in the world right now is a video of something on the internet.

He nicked the slot-loader out of an old iMac, then spent a very long time indeed hacking the drive's insides and controller boards to make it work. And it works. Well done, random man off the internet. You're cleverer than most people.
