New Xbox Experience dash update launches on... November 19

xbox-experience-november-19.jpgThe re-jigged, 3D, Windows Vista-copying dash update we've been banging on about for months now has been given an official launch date - November 19.

From that day forward, the next time you sign into Xbox Live you'll be prompted to download the enhanced dash, and welcomed into the arena of the "casual gamer" and granted access to all the amusing avatars and clothing options and Party Chats that world contains.

The 19th is a Wednesday. Here's a quote from Microsoft man John Schappert, who is, rightly so, a bit excited about the whole thing..

"When the New Xbox Experience launches in just six weeks, we will be inviting the whole world to play. We will also have the games that everyone will want, including all-new social experiences like 'Lips,' 'Scene It? Box Office Smash,' and 'You're In the Movies,' all launching this Christmas all exclusively on Xbox 360."

The casual gamer apocalypse is imminent. If you go online on Christmas day, all you'll get is several hundred thousand "newbies" asking you questions about port forwarding. It might be best not to add any new people to your Friends list for the next six months.
