Teaser for Bungie's next Halo project out now

Bungie_Logo_4C_black_eps_jpgcopy.jpgThe countdown is over and you can see footage of Bungie's latest Halo-related endeavour either here, or by signing into Xbox LIVE on your 360. The teaser shows several shots of a futuristic city. A fleet of UFOs drops from space, headed towards the city. Everything is engulfed by a large blue explosion. A series of warning messages come up (including one reading: "Warning: Flood Zone") before the camera returns to the city, now destroyed. It cuts to a Halo 3 logo.

As pointed out by Kotaku, the description text on the Xbox 360 dashboard states that it's a "New Halo 3 Campaign Experience," that suggests that it'll be an expansion of some kind, perhaps a downloadable one. If I had to guess, I'd say it's unlikely that we'll see Master Chief in this one, given that the Halo trilogy tied up his story arc rather nicely. Despite a rather derivative single-player campaign, Bungie's online play in Halo 3 is the defining online 360 experience, full of imaginative features and instantly rewarding gameplay. If Bungie are on form, they could do the same for DLC.
