No comment from Woolworths over Xbox 360 price cut

Ring_of_Light_eps_jpgcopy.jpgThere's no comment from Woolworths over whether those recent scans leaked from their catalogue showing a price cut are accurate, and if they are accurate, whether they are part of a Woolworths retail plan or indicative of a cut from Microsoft. In a statement to gamesindustry.biz, the retailer said that ""Woolworths will not comment directly on the speculation that has appeared on various gaming websites as it is commercially sensitive information."

"The Christmas 2008 Woolworths Big Red Book is not released until the first week of October and, until that date, remains a confidential document," the statement continued, adding that "There are several draft editions in existence, with prices, products and descriptions varying dependent on the draft."

It wouldn't surprise me at all if this did end up being a plan from Microsoft. In the runup to Christmas, it's likely that the company will want to expand their precious user base any way they can. If it is a cut from Microsoft, then I expect that we'll hear more leaked details from other retailers soon.
