Here's Xbox 360's community-based man Major Nelson giving everyone a thoroughly thorough walk through of the new Avatars system, set to launch whenever it is the revised Xbox 360 Dashboard rolls out later this year.

It is not bad. It could be significantly worse. It looks, dare we suggest, FUN.

Although they are definitely too cheery. Some of that high-fiving attitude needs to be dropped. No one's ever that happy outside of Nintendo Land. Can we have an Avatar that walks slowly on screen, sighs, then sits down, please?
