Shred Nebula - made in a man's garage, launching on XBLA in September

Came out of nowhere, this one. Shred Nebula is, apparently, a thrust-based shooter in the Asteroids vein, one that should hopefully differentiate itself from the hordes of retro tat on Xbox Live Arcade by offering eight-player action. But it won't differentiate itself from Asteroids that much.

The guy behind it all is called James Goddard. He has a company called CrunchTime Games and a refreshingly unpolished personal blog about it here. The game was made in his garage. And this is what it looks like.

The official and slightly broken Shred Nebula site has a few more details on the game, along with some videos. We're not quite interested enough to bother downloading videos of it, though. We're keen, but not going to get carried away.

You'll be able to see what virtually no fuss is about on September 3, when Shred Nebula launches on XBLA.
