Castle Crashers is on XBLA right now, going for 1200 Microsoft Points. Brought to you from the same blokes who made Alien Hominid, the game's a beat 'em up with some light RPG elements thrown in. You and up to three buddies play the eponymous Castle Crashers who are tasked hitting things using swords and magic. The game features 20 levels, 40 weapons, over 20 unlockable characters, and an Arena deathmatch mode. The download also comes with a couple of gamerpics and a dashboard theme, for those of you who care about that sort of thing.

Although it's at a slightly higher price, it's good to see more original XBLA content like this appear. It's been a strong few weeks for XBLA, with Geometry Wars 2 and the fantastic Braid recently released. In a bizarre way, I think Castle Crashers could complement Braid rather nicely. Beating your way through a castle sounds like a good way of winding down from the brilliant but occasionaly intensely frustrating puzzling offered by Braid.
