Xbox division finally makes a profit for Microsoft - $426m in the bank
Finally, the figures are in glorious BLACK for Microsoft's gaming squad.
The Entertainment & Devices part of the mega-corporation made a profit last year, banking $426m across Xbox, Zune and PC gaming sales. This compares quite sensationally well to last year's figures, in which MS made a $1.9 billion loss, thanks to putting aside a cool $1,000,000,000 to pay for the RRoD replacement scheme.
Capping the performance was some excellent sales data for Xbox 360 - in the last 12 months it shifted 8.7 million consoles, compared to the 6.6 million Microsoft flogged to the world during the previous year.
