US Troops in Afghanistan being pelted with Xboxes

ghiiixboxbundle.jpgAs if the US forces stationed in Afghanistan didn't have enough to worry about, what with all the bombs, bullets and surface-to-air missiles, they now have to contend with low-flying games consoles and plastic guitars.

Those purveyors of quality private military expertise Blackwater Worldwide have never really been held in high esteem by the lower-paid, less well armoured troops they are ordered to drive past in their air-conditioned humvees.

This state of affairs could not be allowed to continue, and so the mercenaries security company have decided to win hearts and minds using the shock and awe of ROCK.

Even as I type, carefully packed Xbox 360 consoles, Guitar Hero III discs and controllers and video projecors are being air ropped on fun-starved US Army personnel, courtesy of Blackwater.

It's heartwarming, and might be a useful control group for any future experiments to do with violent games inspiring violent acts.
