The extremely clever men over at Epic Games are including a clever little feature in Gears 2, one which examines your Gears 1 save and unlocks new multiplayer stuff in Gears 2 as a reward.

Three example of how this works have been supplied by Epic. I have laboriously cutted-and-pasted them from one web page into this web page for your reading below.

* Unlocking the "Completed Act 1" achievement in GoW unlocks Anthony Carmine in GoW2 multiplayer.

* Unlocking the "A Dish Best Served Cold" achievement in GoW unlocks General RAAM in GoW2 multiplayer.

* Unlocking the "Time to Remember" achievement in GoW unlocks Minh Young Kim in GoW2 multiplayer.

My Gears 1 save position will tell Gears 2 I got bored after two missions of the primary school-level sci-fi rubbish. What do I unlock for that? An entirely new game not based around 1980s machismo?
