Oh dear. Oh deary, deary me. It would appear that Microsoft is, how can we put this delicately? Stealing from or at the very least least carbon-copying Nintendo's Mii system with this little lot - the Xbox 360 Avatars. Coming soon to Xbox Live and proper retail games from this Christmas, the "Avatars" will replace your GamerPic.

The news comes from a "hacked" - ie, "found" - marketing web site that featured materials Microsoft was planning to make public at July's E3 game show. This, therefore, is not a fake. It is the sad future of Xbox Live:

There'd better be an option to leave everything exactly how it is at the moment. I really don't need a little cartoon tosser gyrating about in a zany fashion everytime I turn on the console. I am not 9-years-old. Putting a different colour t-shirt on a pretend person is not what I consider a fun activity.
