There is a "slight difference" between GTA IV on Xbox 360 and PS3, says Rockstar boss
The difference is the way they look. Apparently, according to Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser, the Xbox 360 version looks "more clinical" while the PS3 one has a "softness" to it.
That sort of talk could go either way - maybe the 360 one looks like a cold PC game? Or perhaps PS3 GTA IV's all blurry to cover up a dodgy frame rate? Feel free to leap to your own wild conclusions!
I've been fortunate enough to see GTA IV running on Xbox 360 with my own eyes and can assure you there's nothing to worry about on this end. It has the same artistic stippling graphic effect that Rockstar likes to stick on a lot of its games, but the frame rate was rock solid - and the draw distance and atmosphere of the city simply phenomenal.
Can't say any more. Don't want to get in trouble. Rockstar knows people that know people with big sticks.

Maybe it would help if you published the whole quote instead of editing it in a pro-360 spin, though to be fair I wouldn't expect anything less from this fanboy site...
What he actually said is he personally PREFERS how the PS3 looks because it is softer WITHOUT BEING BLURRY with some WARMTH to it. The 360 version was said to look clinical.
I've always said the 360 makes games look too harsh and PC looking, whereas the PS3 is able to capture a more cinematic quality. Looks like the same is true of GTA IV...

Lets be honest... your name is "PS3Owner" and you are calling this site a "fanboy site". Your name screams out fanboy and all I will add is I don't care which machine is "better" because the game will be enjoyed by both PS3 and Xbox owners alike.
When I'm playing it I'm not going to be thinking "oh my god I'm so glad I got the PS3 version because it's like a whole better game!" nor will I be thinking "wow GTA IV is crap on xbox360 I wish I'd got it on PS3" because all I'm going to be thinking is "wow these cops chases are so much better and it really feels menacing when I fire a gun now", and thats about it.
If you must have a view on the "console war" then I'd say the 360 has so many more games to play than the PS3 at the moment and working in a video game store i know that most PS3 owners come in and ask "anything good coming out this week for the PS3?" as opposed to the xbox owners who come in already knowing if there isn't something new they have alot of cool games still to choose from.
PS3 will be better in the future but let's face it so was the Xbox over the PS2 only by then next gen was firmly on it's way.
Next console war Sony need to get in and make it a race before there is a big lead owned by Xbox.

I have a 360 and I can't wait for the gta to come out on Tuesday, I'm sure the game is going to be sick for both consoles in every way. but I don't see why you want to start that whole mine is better than yours crap, because you know exactly thats where this article is headed. I love my 360 and I'm looking forward to purchase a ps3. I don't think I will get a wii because it is not my style of game, and that does not mean that the wii sucks, just not my style.

@PS3Owner and all the other fanboys
What you should know about Sam Houser is that he's a very clever guy and he's been playing you fanboys like a fiddle, one week he'll say that the 360 is the "more complete experience" another week he'll say he likes the way the PS3 graphics look slightly softer, one week he blames the PS3's architecture for the delay next week he'll bring up the 360's lack of unified HDD yet in the same breath he'll say they both look exactly the same and they both had their own challenges that caused the delay.
So for the fanboys out there who can't work it out for themselves, he's giving you both something to boast and flame each other about while keeping the hype machine in overdrive but i wouldn't expect you lot to understand this when you're all too busy being cheerleaders for your chosen brand.
P.S. Sony's spin on this is that you should play it where the game was meant to be played so i guess they suggest you buy the PC version as that's where it originated.

Yes, let's not bother with this fanboy stuff. Rockstar seem to think both games are going to be fantastic, and I'm sure we're all going to find it amazing, perhaps in those famous words 'the first next-gen experience'. Doubt we'll see it on the Wii...

The PS3 version is uncompressed and runs at a native 1080p Full HD resolution.
The X360 version needed to be compressed to all hell. Even more compressed then the 640p resolution of Halo3.
Also, the 360 version of GTA4 uses a anti-aliasing signal process in order to minimize the distortion artifacts from the compression.

I have the PS3 version and I'm disappointed with the resolution of the game. I've been playing San Andreas on a PC for the last 3 months at 1680 x 1050 and it is stunningly pin sharp. I was expecting GTAIV on PS3 to be HD 1080P. It is not. You can tell immediately, there are quite a lot of jagged lines and the background looks blurry. I've viewed it on a High Def Projector and a Samsung TFT monitor but there is no getting away from the fact that the game looks low res compared to Uncharted or Assasins creed. I bet I am not the only one out there that feels slightly deflated. I hope they bring the game out for the PC....
