Silent Hill 5 now Silent Hill: Homecoming, arriving September
That next-gen Silent Hill's gotten both a subtitle and a release date. The newly titled Silent Hill: Homecoming will apparently be appearing for 360 and PS3 in September of this year. In case you've not seen anything on it before, it features war veteran Alex Shepherd returning to everybody's favourite fog-infested hell hole in order to find his lost brother.
I love the Silent Hill series, but I think part five will need to do something really new to work. Silent Hill 2 nailed the haunted town story, with a lot of part 3 taking place outside of the town, and part four with only tangential links to the series. But on the other hand, that meant that every installment did something a little new. The latest PSP installment just felt a bit staid- the series needs to move on, risk irritating a few of its dedicated fans (myself included) and do something new. Let's hope that Silent Hill 5 is more than just another installment, but rather the series re-imagined for the next-gen.
