Prince of Persia going all Cel Shaded

princeofpersia.jpgCel Shading - cool artistic technique that can breathe life into stale games or shonky "just draw black lines around it, it'll look ace" cop-out?

YOU, THE JURY.

Whatever. According to French games mag Joypad, the new Prince of Persia game will be shading cells like they are going out of fashion.. Which they may well be.

They did dig up some interesting nuggets about the actual gameplay though, which is always nice. This time around, the Prince will be 'healing' a corrupted world by doing various videogamey tasks. This corruption/healing will be played out in real time with the environment decaying around you and flowers sprouting back to life if you do your job.

The cheating-git time rewinding stuff from Sands Of Time is out the window, although our hero can still run along walls and generally defy physics in other ways.

Best of all, the combat system is going to be based more on duelling between the player and individual enemies - just like the classic 2D original game!
