Man stabbed in GTA IV queue

gtaiv1.jpgThe GTA IV midnight launch in Croydon's Gamestation took a turn for the horrific last night when a 23 year old man walking past the shop was stabbed by someone standing in the queue.

The victim was taken to hospital and has since been allowed home. Police are appealing for witnesses of the attack, which took place around 11 PM.

In retrospect, it was inevitable. So great is the evil power of Grand theft Auto IV to twist men's minds and corrupt their souls that it can inspire acts of senseless violence even before they have played it.

Or at least, that is probably going to be the gist of tomorrow's headlines.

With GTA's inherent violence being the default news 'angle', I'm sure tomorrow's tabloids will make a meal of this. Channel Four News' website (usually a fairly sensible place) has already gone with the completely neutral"Stabbing in queue for violent game".

the stupid thing is the game didn't push him to do stuff like this but I think the game was a catalysis for the stabbing.

its people like that who are unstable in the mind that shouldn't be playing games full spot leave alone violent ones.

because who in the right mind takes a knife with them to a GTA release... I think it was you better give me a copy of I'll knife you. very sad
