Speaking at a recent conference call, Rockstar execs have revealed that we can expect "at least one major sequel in 2009" and that it'll be "a triple-A sequel." Given that GTA IV will be out in 2008, and with downloadable content planned for it, it's unlikely that it's going to be another GTA title. I'm holding out for the long-awaited Max Payne 3, especially given the interest that the Max Payne movie could generate in the title.

The Max Payne series was one of the best ever made, taking the third person action genre and really doing something new and fun with it. The bullet-time, John Woo inspired gameplay was addictive and slick, with just enough depth to keep you hooked and oodles of style to boot. Combined with its great storytelling, likeable characters and an ability to laugh at its own film noir inspirations, it was an utter, utter classic.
