Roogoo - a new and pleasantly surreal puzzle game for Xbox Live Arcade

Roogoo is colourful, has rotating shapes in, features spinning discs and is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. It's the sort of thing that, were we given to using such clichés, would be referred to as "a breath of fresh air" in this stale world of men in combat suits shooting aliens.

Here's a rather joyful little picture of it in action:

And here's how it works, just in case you can't tell from that, as it is quite hard to tell how it works from that...

"Roogoo tasks players with guiding meteors in the form of shaped blocks though a series of rotating disks as a means of saving the planet Roo and the entire Roogoo race. If aligned correctly, the disks allow the blocks to reach the ground and scores are awarded."

Roogoo's being developed by SpiderMonk, which has a rather patchy history of creating mobile phone games. But let's not pre-judge this based on that, as that sort of thing always leads to trouble and retribution. Roogoo's also coming to PC, and will be out this Spring.
