Paramount movies coming to UK Xbox Live Video Store!

transformers-xbox-live-video-store.jpgSo with HD DVD currently on the ropes, it looks like the new battle is to see who can set up an online HD movie delivery service first. And Microsoft is way ahead so far.

Today, MS announced that HD DVD backer Paramount is bringing its "product" to the European Xbox Live downloads service, joining heavyweight Hollywood producer - and Blu-ray turncoat - Warner Bros. in offering HD downloads through Xbox 360.

The deal includes the currently HD DVD-only Transformers remake, along with classic old stuff from the Paramount back catalogue like Naked Gun and Top Secret. Paramount already releases its stuff on the US Video Store, where such delights as Blades of Glory, Mean Girls and Braveheart are available.

The Paramount selection will hit the UK Video Store in early March.
