Can there be anything more pleasing to the eye than a chainsaw tearing open a human body in a spray of flesh, bone fragments and blood?

Well, how about a CHAINSAW DUEL? Two, yes TWO chainsaws battling it out like giant, angry pencil sharpeners with a mind to KILL! A not just kill humans, either. These babies will slice and dice both human and alien alike.

Yes, the rumors are true - the Human Vs Locust chainsaw duel glimpsed in the GDC Gears of War 2 trailer was a hint at an actual in-game feature, possibly in an attempt to bring some kind of playable order to the previously random outcome of saw-on-saw encounters.

How controllable this will be is anyone's guess - a properly-implemented melee fighting engine is possible, but might not sit too well with the existing Gears controls. Hopefully this will be something with a little more depth than just a 'block and 'eviscerate' button pairing.
