Bioshock's music is the best - official
Isn't Bioshock great? We all love Bioshock, even its creator Ken Levine who thinks its ending is rubbish. And Bioshock's music in particular is worthy of great praise. So it's heartening to see that we're not the only people that think so. The game won every category it was nominated in at the Game Audio Network Guild awards. So well done Bioshock.
For the record, the G.A.N.G. categories it triumphed in were as follows:
Audio Of The Year
Music Of The Year
Sound Design Of The Year
Best Interactive Score
Best Cinematic/Cutscene Audio
Best Dialogue
Best Original Instrumental (for "Welcome To Rapture")
Best Use of Licensed Music
Composer Gary Schymann had best have a big mantelpiece for all those trophies. Greedy bast. We jest of course - much of the game's foreboding atmosphere came from such a fantastic soundtrack, and it's a thoroughly deserving recipient of those awards. Once again: well done Bioshock.
