Xbox Live reaches 10 million users

Live.jpgWhile few Xboxer readers need convincing of the merits of getting a 360 online and signing up to Xbox Live, if your console's still only plugged into your TV and the mains heed this. At CES, Microsoft have proudly announced they have hit the milestone that is ten million registered Xbox Live users.

While it isn't clear how many of those 10 million, who are connected across 26 countries, are Gold subscribers, Videogamer reports that Microsoft weren't planning on hitting such a monumental target for another 6 months. Regardless, 10 million users can't be wrong, and they're surely one of the biggest connected videogame communities in history.

If you still need convincing that you should sign up, consider the fact that with ten million enthusiastic customers, developers are going to be all the more inclined to produce Xbox Live Arcade games, there might be far more 'full size' downloads in the same vein as Tomb Raider Anniversary, and online game modes are likely to increase in prominence and quality. PlayStation Network has some catching up to do, to say the least.
