Top ten Xbox Live games of 2007 revealed

halo3-1.jpgMicrosoft blogger Major Nelson's released a couple of top ten lists revealing what the top ten retail and arcade Xbox Live games were for 2007. Based on Xbox Live connectivity, the top ten retail games read pretty much as you'd suspect, with Halo 3 topping the charts (of course), Gears of War in second place and Call of Duty 4 coming in a highly respectable 3rd. The XBLA list does throw up a couple of surprises though, with TMNT 1989 Arcade the most popular game of 2007.

Seriously though, number one? I mean it was a decent arcade game, but didn't anyone else find that the years had not been kind to the title's monotone, button mashing gameplay? Let's just hope that the developers don't take this is a sign that piling out churning out unimaginative retro ports is the way to go for 2008. In slightly better news, Worms took second place, with the fab Castlevania: Symphony of the Night taking third.
