Gears of War fanatics take note- prequel novel coming

Marcus.jpgIf you’re desperate for a Gears of War fix to help plug the gap between Gears of War and its inevitable sequel, you might be interested in the new prequel novel going by the name of Gears of War: The Pendulum Wars. Listed by Amazon.ca, it’s penned by Steven L. Kent, is 352 pages long, and is slated for release in August 2008.

Gears of War didn’t have a plot that made a lot of sense. The art direction and world was designed convincingly enough to give you the feeling of a coherent universe, but unsurprisingly for Epic, the plot was kept in the background. While I would like the plot fleshed out a bit more, I think it’s a good thing on the whole. Nothing more frustrating than having to sit through loads of unskippable, unnecessary cutscenes.
