CES 2008: Microsoft and BT Vision go on about IPTV AGAIN - and delay it to mid-2008

xbox-360-bt-vision-2008.jpgAnd they both pretended it was new news rather than the sort of thing we knew about ages ago.

Still, at least the IPTV HDTV-on-demand thing is happening, although last year they were saying we'd have it by now. Instead, by "mid 2008" users of BT's combo broadband/movies BT Vision service will be able to use their Xbox 360s as more of a media hub.

Although we thought that was kind of the point of BT Vision anyway? Isn't that what all the adverts are about on TV at the moment? And isn't it a slight conflict with the Xbox Live Video Store? Isn't it, to be blunt, all a bit pointless?

If only Microsoft had announced that HD DVD-enabled Xbox 360, then we wouldn't have to pretend rubbish announcements like this were exciting today :(
