A functional update about this Wednesday's Xbox Live Arcade games - Gripshift and Arkadian Warriors
Just to reiterate that headline - Gripshift and Arkadian Warriors are this Wednesday's XBLA releases.
Gripshift I know about and can write about off the top of my head pretty easily - it's a remake of a quite good, or at least marginally above average PSP racer. It's a slightly odd game with insane 3D tracks that, and we hesitate to use this word, might be considered 'fun' thanks to offering four-player racing on Xbox Live.
Arkadian Warriors is a bit of a mystery to me, to be honest, so I'll use the old trick of quoting from the press release:
"Three heroic shape-shifting warriors fight to release the Land of Arkadia from the evil Gorgon’s stony gaze. In the uniquely expansive 'Arkadian Warriors,' randomly generated dungeons and cooperative multiplayer hack & slash action enhances a deep single-player campaign. The robust cooperative multiplayer mode is available for two players both locally and over Xbox LIVE. Upgrading is key as players hone their skills, acquire loot and master powerful magic spells and numerous deadly weapons in a journey of mythical proportions."
I speed-read some of that and saw the term "randomly generated dungeons". Arkadian Warriors will not be getting 800 of my Microsoft Points. Gripshift might, but I really ought to get around to completing Sonic 2 before blowing any more Cash Tokens on old games.
