Microsoft enticing original Xboxers towards Live with free Halo 3

H3_e32006_structure.jpgYou can get a free copy of Halo 3 if you decide to buy an Xbox 360 after November 21st and before December 21st. So far, so good. The catch? You have to have had an *original* paid Xbox Live account. And you need to convert your Live account into a gold subscription to Xbox Live. Then, if you register with Microsoft before the deadline on December 21st, you'll get your free copy of Halo 3 sometime before January 23rd. More details available here.

Looks like another cunning plan by Microsoft to entice people into signing up for a gold account. It's a promotion that takes a similar tactic to the recently released Xbox Live Arcade pack, the one that packaged five free arcade games in with a 360 bundle. Especially with the new map packs around the corner, Microsoft wants to get as many people online playing Halo 3 as possible.

its a shame that microsoft has decide the fate of there xbox, going back a few years now the so called redundant machines of the home computer u used to be able to create your own maps (unreal tournament99 2003 and 2004)(just try going on a server of UT99 )why has it come about that now we need someone to design something for us to pay for, when hardcore gamers used to be able to do for free and im sure was more enjoyable than playing the game in some respect`s
