More Burnout Paradise details trickle out

E3_action16.jpgA few more details slipped out about upcoming open world race ‘em up Burnout Paradise, with the game featuring four unique single-player events: Race, Marked Man, Road Rage and Stunt, triggered by pulling up at various stoplights. You’ll also apparently be able to participate in hundreds of online Freeburn challenges. Burnout Paradise will also feature an EasyDrive Online Social Gaming system, allowing you to build friend lists and “connect with them instantly without having to wait or exit your game.” The game's slated to run at a smooth 60fps.

Still not entirely sure what a Freeburn challenge is, but I’m guessing it’s some kind of race through predetermined routes through the city. I can take an educated guess at what a Stunt mode might entail, and we’ve seen Race and Road Rage before. Marked Man sounds like it could be some kind of 'Man with the Ball' esque affair. Perhaps you get marked by taking out a marked opponent, and have to stay in the race without getting bashed by another player. The graphics are looking great, and if someone can stop my cynicism of open-world driving games, it’s Criterion. Can’t wait.
