Mass Effect trilogy intended to finish this console generation
As you might know, upcoming RPG Mass Effect is planned as the first instalment in a trilogy. The good news is that there’s a chance we’ll get to play the trilogy without forking out for an Xbox 720/1080/whatever, with BioWare president Dr. Greg Zeschuk stating that “Certainly our intent is to have all three iterations or installments of Mass Effect to be on Xbox 360. That's the goal." That doesn't mean exclusivity though, with Dr. Zeshuck replying to the question of Xbox 360 exclusivity for the series by stating that he "Can't really comment on that aspect yet, it's too far into the future. Thinking a year in to the future is a big challenge these days. The law we can't control is the length of the console cycle."
"I hope, I hope, I hope that this cycle is longer than the last one. We kind of just got started last cycle and it kind of ended when our second game came out. Downloadable content could also bridge the gap by giving you new little islands of story between the big game releases."
What excites me about the Mass Effect is the possibility that we’ll see a little more moral ambiguity. The moral choices in KOTOR and Jade Empire were a great idea, but the choice was between being a puppy-saving do-gooder and a caped, cackling, moustachioed villain. Mass Effect is currently slated for release on November 23rd in the EU.
