Halo 3 to make $200 million on launch, says analyst
More forecasts of Halo 3’s marketing dominance have recently come to light, with analyst Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital Markets surmising that sales could reach $200 million dollars in “one of the largest and most successful product launches in digital entertainment." His prediction’s based on “"conversations with Xbox management as well as our own industry checks," with "significant preorders and broad consumer anticipation.” Unsurprisingly, he thought that Halo 3 would help shift hardware, adding that “In addition, we expect Halo 3 to drive increasing Xbox 360 hardware sell-through, supported by the August price cuts.”
Given Bungie’s tight quality control and proven ability to provide entertainment, I’d be pretty surprised if Halo 3 didn’t end up satisfying fans of the series. Still I have to admit that I’ve gotten far more excited about some of the new franchises that we’ve seen on the 360, games like BioShock and The Darkness. I’m sure Halo will be an excellent entry in the series, but given how well established the series is, I don’t know if we’ll see as much innovation as we’ve seen with the new IPs we’ve been getting. Still, we won’t find out until the 26th.

Microsoft is pretty tight lipped about these things but, purely from anecdotal evidence, I think the Elite does have a better track record when it comes to RROD issues. Bricked elites do pop up from time to time but they aren't all that common.

Thanks AI W...
But that might be because the Elite has less units out... Lets just hope for the best.
It would be really messed up if the biggest game on Xbox360, becomes a nail in its coffin...
Peace!!

And the failure rate of the Xbox360 will climb to 60%... thus increasing sales of more defected products.
I Can almost feel the RROD breathing down my neck. I doubt my X360 will survive the invasion :-(
So if it dies for the second time, should I just hand MS more of my money for the Elite that most likely have the same failure rate??
What do you guys think!!
