PROTOTYPE official, screens released
Sierra Entertainment today officially announced PROTOTYPE, a caps-heavy title that sees you playing Alex Mercer, a man gifted with the superpowers and haunted past that seems to be a computer game character requisite these days. He possesses shapeshifting abilites, that allow him to nick powers and skills from people around them, as well as assume their appearances.
The game’s will feature open-world gameplay, with Radical Entertainment president Kelly Zmak stating that “From free-form movement to over-the-top combat action; PROTOTYPE can climb or wall-run across any surface, jump 30 stories high, and destroy anything that crosses his path.”
Radical Entertainment’s already shown their deft touch when it comes to superpowered, open-world antics with Xbox release, “The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction,” one of those rare few comic book games that actually managed to faithfully translate the power of its character into decent gameplay. The story was big, silly, fun and felt like a comic-book. If PROTOTYPE is headed down the same path, it's no bad thing.
