Madden NFL 2008 demo available for download now

madden08.jpgFor all you fans of good old American Football, a demo of Madden NFL 2008 is finally available for download via Xbox Live Marketplace.

With reviews thus far being hugely positive for this latest update to the long running franchise, it's certainly one to try. The "Weapons system," is one new feature that's received particular praise, its ability to differentiate between the merely average and the very best players by handing then obviously better skills. Luckily this little feature doesn’t simply give certain players superhuman strength, or ridiculous running speed. Nope, it's much more realistic, with certain players just given that little extra edge.

And for Xbox 360 gamers, there's the much publicised frame rate issues to shout about, with our version trundling along at a cracking 60 frames per second, while the PS3 version struggles along at a pitiful 30 frames per second.

My verdict? It's a brilliant update, and well worth purchasing. The Weapons system is a fantastic addition, and the reworked Superstar mode makes for an incredibly long lasting challenge.
