Jericho headed for October, new trailer released
There are a lot of reasons to look forward to Clive Barker’s Jericho. Firstly, there’s a dearth of decent horror games on the Xbox 360. Condemned was pretty good and really creepy, but apart from a few titles like The Darkness, that's been about it. Secondly, Clive Barker’s Undying for PC was an FPS horror game that managed to pack in original, thoughtful gameplay, decent characterisation, plot and lots and lots of scary. It’s good news then, that we can expect to see Clive Barker's Jericho appear sometime in October, according to publishers Codemasters.
The trailer's a little worrying though. As pointed out by Kotaku, it's not the most inspiring piece of footage ever with predictable, straight-to-video-action-movie dialogue, plenty of gore but less on the scares. Let's hope it was a bad day at the editing studio: Jericho's going to have pretty stiff competition in October. While an average big budget shooter might have done OK at retail had it been released during a slightly more quiet time, the last three months of this year will be anything but, especially in terms of shooters.
