Family Guy joining American download service
This is exciting news for two reasons - (1) It means media giant 20th Century Fox has done a deal with Microsoft to allow its material online, and (2) Family Guy rocks. Or roxxors, however it is you kids say that these days.
"We hope to have other content on there, but right now with the launch of 'Halo 3' and the launch of the new season of 'Family Guy' coming out, the timing really worked well for this one," Fox executive vice president Jamie McCabe told boring news blog Reuters, giving us hope that more decent Fox shows will eventually land on Xbox Live's telly service.
The first two series of Family Guy will be up for the Americans to download on Monday, for 160 credits each. That's about a quid. You'd be better off trudging to HMV and picking one of the DVDs out of the bargain bin, to be honest. The Family Guy film will be up for download too, which is handy as we never got around to pirating that one.
Microsoft's TV download thing is launching in the UK this Christmas.
