UK retailer spills the beans on Rock Band price?
In the world of rhythm games like Guitar Hero and more recently EA's Rock Band it really is the peripherals that make the game. Nothing quite beats the feeling that you are truly rocking out even when the reality is that you have a tiny representation of a guitar and you are pushing buttons in sequence.
The biggest mystery of late has been just how much will Rock Band set us back! With its guitar, drum and microphone peripherals there was speculation that this ROCK monster would cost a pretty penny.
As a colleague of mine was merrily considering his purchase options this very morning on UK retailer Amazon.co.uk whilst he should probably been doing something much more important he stumbled across something that might point to a much more wallet friendly price point for Rock Band!
As his almost hysterical email to me will attest (subject line - Holy c**p bargain-a-rama!) He proceeded to tell me that he had just placed a pre-order at the snip of a price £69.99! Alas by the time I received said mail through our mail server and found a moment (because some of us are actually busy) to actually go and look the listing had been removed and replaced with the Amazon "put your email in and we shall mail you with information".
Now, I have no reason to believe that my colleague lied as he is as excited about Rock Band as I am. So does this mean that Amazon has lifted the lid on one of the most recently debated questions. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that retailers have been responsible for spilling the beans on release dates, pricing as well as price drops so did Amazon get and angry call from EA Sales Managers this morning... I think they might have!
