For the love of god! If you have 400 credits, go use them NOW!

While the majority of retro re-releases aren't worth the, er, memory they're downloaded into, Sonic The Hedgehog is. It just is. The graphics have not been updated - hooray! - and the game has not been stretched into widescreen, either - this is Sonic The Hedgehog as it has always been. We will still get teary-eyed at the amazing sight of Star Light Zone.

The Achievements have also had a bit of thought put into them. Yes, you get points for "reaching Star Light Zone", but there are also points on offer for speed-runs - complete Green Hill Zone Act 1 in uder 30 seconds, for example, plus the ultimate challenge of beating the entire game in under 40 minutes - or without dying even once.

This is what we've been waiting for since first reading the press release about Xbox 360 in May 2005. Shame we had to wait a bit longer than Wii, but very nice all the same.

Oh, and Golden Axe is also out today as part of the new "SEGA Vintage Collection" download scheme. But that was always a bit rubbish.
