The Game Critics Awards has announced its shortlist of the best games at E3 2007 - with Rock Band, Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock looking favourite to scoop victory.

Rock Band is nominated in five categories, with Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock both picking up four nods. The winners of the awards, which poll opinion from numerous magazines, web sites and blogs, will be announced next Monday.

It's nice that the three most nominated games are all coming to Xbox 360 this year, and if you're avidly compiling statistics to do with the "console war," you might like to hear that Xbox 360 has 38 games nominated across all categories, while PS3 has 29 and Wii only 14.

Clear proof that Xbox 360 is "best" we think you'll agree.
