Mass Effect conversation video hits web, looks amazing

A rather impressive Mass Effect clip’s been making the rounds on the internet. On the surface of it, it doesn’t sound that impressive: just two characters talking. But what’s great about it is the fact they almost look like they’re actually having a conversation, rather than sharing a string of statements. The facial expressions and movements are spot-on and the voice acting's sounding good.

It’s a small thing, but somehow this is one of the most promising things I’ve seen about Mass Effect. Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel had some fantastic dialogue, but the static camera angles and rather stilted expressions on the characters marred the solid voicework and script. This looks very cool: the first game I’ve seen in a while that has dialogue that doesn’t make you want to repeatedly hit the ‘skip’ button.
