E3 2007: Tons of new titles heading to Xbox Live Arcade

live_arcade_logo.jpgAs part of the Microsoft’s E3 keynote speech, a fresh selection of Xbox Live Arcade titles were unveiled. I can’t be sure this is the complete list yet, but it looks like the following will be hitting Arcade pretty soon: Bomberman Live, Golden Axe, Hexic 2, Marathon: Durandal, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, Sonic the Hedgehog, Undertow, Water World, Sensible World of Soccer, Wing Commander Arena, Track & Field, Space Giraffe, Super Puzzle Fighter II, Switchball, Tetris and Buko Sudoku.

There’s a few in there we knew about already, and the inclusion of Golden Axe sets an interesting precedent: I wonder how many other Wii Virtual Console titles will be heading cross platform? I’m also glad to see that the classic titles in there are actually games that could do with a fresh console outing, and aren’t like those crappy Atari remakes we’ve so much of recently. That said, there aren’t all that many original titles in the list. Come on Microsoft, nostalgia is one thing, but we need some more fresh thinking on Live Arcade.
