Halo: The tribute album

Halo. A phenomenal game. A (hopefully) soon-to-be major motion picture. A series of novels, figures, comic books, whatever. In other words, a money-making machine. With these products in mind then, the above title should come as no major shock -- a Halo tribute album, 'tis all. But let's be honest, even with two soundtrack albums already on the market (both for Halo 2 I might add), the idea of a tribute album for the epic trilogy is a little weird. The concept of a tribute itself makes me think of ageing rockers trying to rekindle the fire in their bellies frantically playing Guitar Hero II. Not a triple-A title like Halo, still in it's prime.

The album is due to hit stores around August this year and is being produced by 3volution Productions. For most I'm sure that just the presence of the word "halo" on the cover will be enough for them to part with their hard-earned cash but if you don't fall under this fanboy category then Channel 10 have a sample track available here to entice you. I've gotta say, it's sounding awesome. Source.
